RUAPEHU
A stroll up to the Ruapehu crater surrounded by snow and the grandeur of this epic maunga. The kind of beauty that makes you teary.…
Ruapehu gave us a perfect bluebird day. The kind where the cold barely registers because the sky is impossibly blue and the snow seems to swallow every sound. We climbed higher into a world of ice and volcanic rock, crampons crunching beneath our feet, with Tongariro and Ngauruhoe standing quietly across the plateau. Every time I turned around the view seemed to have grown bigger. There was something deeply moving about being up there — surrounded by so much space, so much silence, and a landscape that felt both ancient and alive.
