ULURU
Uluru amongst the rain. Fleeting moments where a dry, harsh landscape finds its relief and the soil gets even redder. After a tough few months this place taught me a thing or two about resilience, especially when it comes to bull ants…
It hurt my heart so much to see the remnants of the track to the top of Uluru, and that it took so long for it to be closed. On reflection, I feel like maybe I shouldn’t have been there. For a place this ancient and sacred, that has nourished its people for tens of thousands of years to be reduced to a tourist attraction felt wrong and I felt uncomfortable to be contributing to it. Regardless it was an absolute privilege to be standing at its base and marvel at its glory.
